伯明罕開打的全英公開賽，台灣女單戴資穎中箭落馬無緣晉級，而男雙的李勝木與蔡佳欣則有所斬獲，一舉來到八強關卡。

全英公開賽總獎金40萬美元，為全世界最古老賽事，隸屬羽超系列賽層級，中國大陸去年除女單、混雙外，抱走所有項目冠軍。

世界排名第八的戴資穎，和生涯初次交手的加拿大華裔選手李文珊打得辛苦，都以20：22落敗，以0比2的局數被淘汰出局。

李勝木與蔡佳欣第一輪0比2的局數擊退日本選手嘉村健士、園田啟悟，接著碰上丹麥的Mads Conrad-Petersen與Mads Pieler Kolding交手上吃足了苦頭。

不過最後李、蔡兩人力戰3局，以21：13、16：21、21：18勝出，名列大會第七種子的兩人，要與南韓的高成炫、申白喆爭取四強門票。

這是李勝木個人繼2012年後，再度晉級全英公開賽男雙八強。
