馬來西亞蘭卡威「地質公園」頭銜可能不保，明年屆滿後可能因缺乏妥善管理及保護，而被聯合國教科文組織（Unesco）取消2007年頒發的榮譽環保資格。

大馬媒體說，因管理階層沒妥善維護被兩度警告，地質公園明年可否繼續保持榮譽環保資格，不無疑慮。

2009年與2011年，聯合國教科文組織評審團曾揚言取消蘭卡威「地質公園」頭銜，幸虧當時大馬科學顧問上訴，才獲准重新評估期限延至2015年。

2011年評審團的調查報告指出，蘭卡威的27項管理工作不符合標準，像是地質管理不完善、未妥善照顧和教育島上原住民、宣傳不落實、發展毫無規劃且破壞社區和大自然等。

蘭卡威地質公園之友（FLAG）組織說，目前積極配合州政府改善弱點，以期明年評估取得好成績。

蘭卡威面積478平方公里，位於大馬半島吉打州外海，是東南亞著名旅遊景點，也是東南亞首個獲得頒發地質公園頭銜的島嶼。(中央社)
