東區: 西北鄰接綠川與中區為界，東南界為大里溪與太平為界，旱溪從中間蜿蜒穿過，此段旱溪曾為台中重大水患為重的地區。鐵路也與旱溪平行穿過此區。是一片平坦。
包含十七個里，由於靠近西北半部自日據時代就已開發，所以街道狹窄、人口密集。東南由於阻隔於旱溪，以新開發的住宅區為主，在台74未完成之前，可說地處偏僻，不獲關愛眼神，建設經費遠不如它區。
