馬英九總統接受日本每日新聞社專訪，重申中國大陸所設立的東海防空識別區，與我國防空識別區重疊面積約2.3萬平方公里，我國軍機未來在該區域的演習訓練，不受影響，同時已透過管道向大陸當局表達我方嚴正立場，大陸此舉對兩岸關係正面發展沒有幫助。

馬總統呼籲在東海所有防空識別區相互重疊的相關各方，都應該透過雙邊協商來解決這個問題，我方也對中國大陸採取相同立場，未來也會向中國大陸反映，不要在南海設立類似的防空識別區。
