在兩年前 PlayStation Network 被駭，導致大量用戶資料被非法儲取事件的餘波延至現在。話說在 2011 年 4 月左右時，他們的 PSN 被駭客入侵，導致數百萬個包含用戶名字、居住地址、電郵、出生日期、信用卡資料和密碼的帳戶資訊被非法儲取過；而現在英國的資訊委員辦事處（Information Commissioner's Office - ICO）剛剛決定就此向 Sony 判處 250,000 英鎊的罰款。ICO 指出若果當時 Sony 的軟體是有合時的更新的話，這件事件是可以避免的，他們的總監表示 Sony 在當時的保安措施根本不足夠。該機構同時在 Twitter 上公佈 Sony 決定不就罰款上訴，不過原因不是因為他們心服口服，其發言人堅稱他們「在法理上不同意」這次判決，放棄上訴只是想換取公司的保安程序不被透露而已。（真忍辱負重呢）
