記者林重鎣／台中報導 兒子和媳婦商討請外勞照顧老爸，陳姓老翁誤於為是要將他送到安養中心，一時想不開，騎車到太平一江橋，企圖跳河，警員路過阻止，並帶回派出所勸說，才及時救回一命，太平警分局7日表揚為民服務員警。 警方說，太平警分局警員楊聖屏日前於下午2時許，前往一江橋旁休閒腳踏車步道，正欲實施預防犯罪宣導，發現有一女子拉著一位老翁場重機車車尾，並向員警揮手大喊幫忙。員警見狀立即前往瞭解，到場時發現陳姓老翁（男、21年次）口中不斷重複說著『我甘脆來去死一死（閩南語）』並持續加油要往橋下近數公尺的河床衝下去。員警當下協助勸止並拿下鑰匙，安撫老翁情緒。 經深入瞭解，原來是陳姓老翁的兒子與媳婦平日在上班，長期照料年邁且行動不便的老翁，於前日老翁無意之間聽到其夫妻倆在討論要如何照顧自己時，誤以為夫妻倆要將他送到安養中心，導致近日心情鬱悶產生輕生念頭。 員警好生安撫並協助老翁與其子、媳溝通，瞭解原委後其實是要申請「外勞看護」來照顧，安養中心只是當時談論議題。經帶返派出所後由員警及志工媽媽共同安撫下才打消輕生念頭。 陳姓老翁媳婦表示，當天一大早父親就嚷嚷著要尋短，所以就一直注意，中午過後見他獨自離去，心生有異，所以就尾隨前往，所幸員警熱心幫忙協助及安撫，才免除這危機。 警方表示，高齡老人本身已無謀生能力，如心情長期鬱悶的情況下，老人很容易得到憂鬱症或者其他方面的精神疾病，親情的照料及撫慰才是根本之道。
