南韓外交部消息人士今天表示，外交部已向企劃財政部申請5.35億韓元（約合52萬6265美元）預算，用於設立聯合國新聞處韓國資訊中心。

南韓聯合新聞通訊社報導，資訊中心主要負責向所在國傳播聯合國的有關資訊，並將所在國在各種問題的立場傳達給聯合國總部。另外，資訊中心還會推動市民團體、教育和學術機構參與聯合國事務。

據報導，南韓政府認為，成立韓國資訊中心有助提高國民對南韓加入國際機構和有關聯合國事務的理解。政府有關人士表示，待相關預算確定後，政府會與聯合國就設立韓國資訊中心開展協商。

資訊中心是聯合國新聞處的下屬部門，目前，聯合國在全球63個國家設有資訊中心、新聞處和辦事處，其中在日本、澳洲、印尼、印度等11個亞洲國家設有資訊中心。(中央社)
